So obviously I’m type 1 diabetic. And if you are reading this I’m guessing you are one of the two types! So, we have something in common. How about we learn from each other?
I was recently diagnosed in 2017 with type 1 diabetes and let me tell you, it was quite the shock. I’m 26, ex athlete, skinny, and no family history of Diabetes whatsoever. My first thought was how could someone like me get this terrible disease. WHY WHY me?? Well there is no explanation apparently, and I guess it doesn’t really matter. The reality is, I have Type 1 diabetes.. I can go 1 of 2 directions; denial and ultimately terrible health and likely not live very long.. Or freaking master this and become a pro and live a long happy life.. which option sounds better?
I work in IT (building software), in the Pharmaceutical field for a living. My company is very involved with Diabetes care and makes great products and software to help us folks out. I’m not here on behalf of my company but independently for You and Me.
So let’s have this journey together, figure this shit out, and keep a positive mind.
